| Photo of Betty Haas --- Betty is the widow of former EARN Secretary-Treasurer Kenneth W. Haas who suggested the idea of an annual Holiday display at Irving Park to EARN President Dennis L. Pearson .... The annual holiday display was approved by the neighborhood board in 1993 and has had an annual run since 1994 ... Betty Haas during that period has made a valuable contribution to a project we call Project Haas |

Like a NASA astronaut he uses the PPL High Lift Truck aerial arm to make electrical wire attachments to the 75 foot flag pole at Irving Park ... We apppreciate Jim's service and we appreciate PPL for allowing the use of its High Lift truck for this project |

| As it stands now it takes about 4 hours to attach the ornaments on our sparkle tree and 2 hours to take it down on average ... It wasn't done this year but in other years since 1994 the services of the Allentown Fire Department was used to raise the Star on the 75 foot flag pole using their High lift aerial ladder truck |
